7/26/07 - Got back from Otakon on Sunday. As far as the con went, it was generally uneventful which is sometimes a good thing. This was probably the smoothest con yet as far as getting there, unpacking, being prepared and whatnot. All the prints and merchandise looked great, our prices were right on and all our display ideas worked well. Like Jeff said, the downside was that we were against the wall, literally. It probably cut traffic in half. I still made a solid profit and just think of how things would go if we actually had a good location for once. I want to thank all my studio mates and students for a great con. My only regret was that I didn't get to check out more art. The only thing I bought was a print from Dave lister of Paradox Lost.

Heres some pics of us at Otakon

4/25/07 - Man its been awhile since I've updated my blog. Lot of things have been going on. My wife and I just got back from a Trip to Thailand which was great. I have 9 students now for art lessons. On top of that, I'm taking classes at John's Hopkins so my life is just insane. Thats mostly the reason for a lack of new art. Still I get to practice alot helping my students out so I really think my art has been improving. I have a new piece that I need to get up in the gallery and I'm working on another. Also, big news for me. I've agreed to work with Sean, the programmer for Charred Dirt on a new video game project demo called Morlin the Magician which will be due out in December '07. I will be doing all the art concepts for the game. I can't say too much about it, but I'm anxious to see how the game turns out. More to come later.

9/21/06 - The Charred Dirt website is almost up. Its all designed and looks great. In regards to my art lately, despite my color and graphic design work getting better I feel like my lineart has kind of plateaued. I want to draw better people but I feel like my lack of real life human studies is limiting the anatomical detail in my characters. Last night I drew a girl and I felt like I hit a wall. I wanted to make the picture better but I just didn't have it in me. Since I was frustrated I pulled out my anatomy book and did a page of hand studies. Today Jeff and I are supposed to get together for a sketch night at his place. I got my anatomy book, I'd like to do some more studies while I have the chance. Maybe I'll work on feet tonight.

8/17/06 - With Fake Radish up and running, I've been turning my attention back to Charred Dirt. The site went down the day before Otakon so I really couldn't work on it then. I'm doing some new art for the mainpage and am working on getting the forums up. Theres still alot to be done and I hope I can make some headway tonight. I noticed that Shari and Jeff have updated their sections so check them out.

8/3/06 - Just got my section of the website up today. I need to finish the posters for Otakon. They're all printed out but I need to cut them down. I'm unusually exited about otakon this year. Maybe its because I'm doing it for the first time as a artist and not as a game designer for Charred Dirt. My house is expensive so I'm hoping to sell alot of artwork. I'm particularly pleased with the new Harajuku picture I did. I meant it as a quickie but I think it came out great. I feel like my coloring ability and graphic design layout are improving.
